The final day is game day and the Big Green took on Cal on Witter Field. For a full recap of the game check out the match report. Despite a loss, the DRFC looked strong against one of the best teams in the country. After the match, the team had a meal with the Cal players which was a great experience. The players and coaches packed into the vans and headed off to the airport afterward to catch the redeye back to the East Coast.
After a walk through session at the hotel in the morning, the DRFC went to Cal in the afternoon for a captain's practice.
The morning started with a recovery session in the hotel pool in the morning and some film. In the afternoon the boys drove around the Marin area and saw places like Muir Woods and Stinson Beach. In the afternoon the team trained in Marin and interacted with the Marin Highlanders youth rugby club.
The team had most of the day free to explore the city and in the evening was a scrimmage versus San Francisco State. All 37 players saw playing time in a strong performance leading up to Cal.
The DRFC had a morning conditioning session at Ocean Beach San Francisco. In the afternoon, the team had the day off to explore the city.
The team got a lift in at the Boss Barbell Club before going to Stanford to practice in the afternoon. That evening the squad went north to San Francisco for the next leg of the trip.
After a light recovery session in the morning, the team had the day off. This included an alumni lunch hosted by the McAdam family and later a dinner hosted by the Hinshaw family.
Down at UC Santa Cruz, the A-side had an "intensity session" practice with UCSC while the B-side played a match. The team looked strong with good performances from underclassmen and juniors returning from their quarter off. The DRFC came out with a 55-5 victory.
The DRFC headed to Stanford to get in two training sessions in preparation for the B-side match versus UC Santa Cruz the next day. Not pictured in the video is the team dinner later at Buca di Beppo.
After spending the night with host families in the Palo Alto area, the DRFC got ready for its first day on tour. In the morning, the team went to the Boss Barbell Club for a lift led by Coach Goonan. In the afternoon, the boys went over to Rich May Field where they had a fitness and install session.
